Banana Blueberry and Spinach Smoothie

One of my favorite ways to start my day is drinking a healthy, plant-based smoothie.  Since I started eating solely whole food plant-base recipes, my outlook and health has improved dramatically.  At 44, I have more energy throughout my whole day than I did when I was thirty.  I am truly amazed and thrilled!

This Banana Blueberry and Spinach smoothie recipe is one I use to get more iron and phytonutrients into my family.  They have no idea their slurping down fresh spinach. All they can taste is the banana and blueberries.

HERE’S ALL IT TAKES

serves 4

  • 3 cups firmly packed baby spinach
  • 3 medium cold bananas
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ground flaxseed
  • 2 cups non-dairy milk (soy, almond, coconut, etc.)

Blend on high in a drink blender for a minimum of  20 seconds, long enough for the spinach to blend down into non-existence.  This will keep all day in the fridge.  The color will darken slightly because of the bananas, but it will still taste delicious.
