Just about every weekend, we eat pizza. We like to change up the toppings from week to week, so pizza night is never boring. For this pizza, I leave the jalapeños off one side for the kiddos when we share, but normally, I prep a separate pizza just for them.
HERE'S ALL IT TAKES
- 1 package Mama Mary's Gourmet Thin & Crispy Pizza Crusts, comes with two medium crusts
- 1/3 cup spaghetti sauce
- 1 1/2 cups cooked ground beef
- 1/4 small onion, chopped
- sliced jalapeños
Preheat the oven with the pizza stone to 425ºF degrees.
Start with a light coating of olive oil ALL over the crust, lightly season with garlic powder, lay down the spaghetti sauce, arrange beef, onions and jalapeños. Salt and pepper to taste. Bake for 7-10 minutes.
Serve with a green leaf lettuce salad.

Jill –
Thanks so much for your recommendation of Mama Mary’s pizza crusts!! My family LOVES homemade pizza, but for me, making the crusts was such a hassle that I didn’t do it very often. We tried the MM crusts last week and they were wonderful! No more takeout pizza for us, since making it at home is now much easier, and of course tastier and cheaper

Yeah!!! Thank you for leaving your feedback – it feels so good to hear how this site helps busy families.
Have fun today!
Very rarely do we go out for pizza. Momma has to be dog tired and no crust on hand before we go out.
Jill,
I’m a purist, I still make my own dough, useless I’m dog tired then I go to Publix and pickup some fresh dough, and my own sauce. I’m curious as to why you use spaghetti sauce as oppose using pizza sauce. Barilla, Newman, Ragu, Bertolli all make a pizza sauce that has to taste better than Hunt’s spaghetti sauce. I make my own sauce (takes 10 minutes) because I’ve never liked the prepared ones, with the exception of Tomaso’s Pizza Sauce which is only found in Northern California.
Toppings I use:green, red, yellow bell peppers, or mushrooms, and sometimes roasted red peppers.
Good morning Paul!
You know, honestly, spaghetti sauce is usually what I have on hand. I have hungry kids (mine & the neighbors) hanging out during meal times. It’s super easy for me open up that can and boil up pasta to feed the gang.
Also, even more honestly, I’ve never considered buying pizza sauce, I just don’t think about it. Tomato paste is my other red spread of choice, but only because it’s what I keep on hand.
I don’t doubt Barilla, Newman, Ragu and Bertolli all make good pizza sauces. We particularly enjoy Bertolli pasta sauce as well as Hunts.
You said these maker’s pizza sauce “has to taste better that Hunts..” which tells me that you haven’t tried it. You may be surprised like I was when I discovered Hunts makes a good sauce.
I remember thinking, “How good could it be? The grocer puts it on the bottom shelf, out of my line of sight, and it only costs $1.19.”
But I bought it anyway because I knew it would be a smooth sauce that my kids would enjoy. It turns out that it is a good sauce, it has a good flavor. I keep it on hand for pouring over manicotti, and it works great in a meaty lasagna.
As for the crust, I’m totally jealous that you have access to fresh pizza dough and that you can make you own. I have tried many times to make my own and I just can’t get it like I love it, thin & crispy. What’s your recipe for pizza dough?

Jill- the pizza looks great, how about a good lasagna recipe?
Paul- Thanks for the additional reccomendations, sounds incredible.
When we have pizza at home, it is because we are too tired to cook… the California Pizzas are great but I am sure it can’t compare to homemade pizza.
