Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day Giveaway 2

Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day is the answer to eating healthier breads.

Now we don't have to pay high prices for artisan breads from the stores; we can make the freshest, most incredible tasting breads for a fraction of the cost right in our very own kitchen.  You don't have to be an experienced bread baker to make the recipes from this book.  Hertzberg and François have created a simpler, no fuss, no kneading technique to making fresh breads.  You don't even need a bread machine.  You can make beautiful loaves using your everyday baking tools.

More and more folks are changing over to whole grain breads in their menus.  Unfortunately, we're finding there's not a lot of choices and in some areas, no choices at all, for buying truly healthy whole grain breads.  Thank goodness for Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day.  We can give our families bread with the freshest ingredients, no preservatives, no fillers, and gluten-free.

The winner of the second book was announced January 22, 2010, 1:00 p.m., Texas Time.

Congratulations goes out to Patty E. !!!

  • Rosa Marie

So excited to learn how to make bread!

  • Marilyn Rose

I have been drooling over the breads in this book–especially the gluten free ones, as I can’t have wheat. I currently bake wheat breads for my family, but my gluten free breads have been–less than terrific. I am hoping this book will produce better GF bread for me, and for my GF friends. I would LOVE to win a copy of this book to give as a gift to my daughter, so she can bake these healthy breads for her family, and make some good GF bread for mom as well. :)

  • I hope I win this! I really want this book :)

  • Giada

    I would love a copy of HBin5.

  • Hoping I win this, my latest attempts to fiber up homemade bread have resulted in coarse loaves with too many crumbs when sliced….great giveaway thanks for the chance to win!

  • Yuri

  • Brenda Summers

I would love to learn to make healthy bread. I am trying hard to lose weight by cooking at home more so I can use all they help I can get.

  • Lauren

I just made my first loaf from HBin5 using the basic whole wheat master recipe that is on the ABin5 website, and it was amazing! I really hope I win the book; I’m sure the rest of the recipes are going to be fabulous, too.

  • Laura

I looked through this book at the bookstore, and it looks FABULOUS! It made me think of the wonderful smell of fresh bread cooking, and of eating warm, buttery rolls. I’m always looking for recipes using more whole grains, and was pleased to see the use of quinoa, millet, and more in this book. If I won, I would certainly put this book to good use.

Healthy breads are the way to go! Top it off with baking it in five that’s the icing on the cake! Thanks for the giveaway… I hope I get picked!

Bread = Heaven. At the request of our Relief Society (church women’s group,) I have six dozen 1/2 wheat-1/2 white rolls rising right now for a local shelter (we decided 100% whole wheat might not sit well on empty tummies which aren’t used to it.) That makes 12 dozen down, and 12 dozen to go. Since my Bosch mixer did most of the work up to the point I shaped them, I don’t know whether the no-knead methods would have saved me any time or effort today, but I’d sure love to try making whole-grain artisan breads. Thanks for the offer!

  • Amy

Jill, I am here to re-enlist for bread baking duty. A good friend has both books and has shared her yummy bread with us before. Wow, I would love to grow up to be like her.
What a fun offer!!! Please sign me up. Thanks

  • Rebekah Stiver

This looks awesome. Would love to win!! Thanks so much!

I moved away from a city where the best ever garlic focaccia bread lived. I have been trying to replicate it, to no avail. Perhaps the secret to the open, chewy, tender, garlic-y loaf lies in the pages of this book. I would love to find out!!! It would be much easier than the 4 hour drive to get a loaf of bread!

  • Vickie Riddle

I am very excited about Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day, it would be wonderful to win this book. Nothing beats the delicious aroma of homemade baked bread! Mmmm!

  • Vernita

I make the challah the other day and jsut like everything I make from htese cook, it turned out wonderfully. i’d love to share this book with one of my friends!

  • June

  • I would love to win a copy of this book. I love to make bread and would like to make healthier bread for my family.

  • I would love to win a copy of this book. There’s nothing better than home made bread and the aroma while it is baking, little bit of heaven !!!!

  • nan lara

i love warm bread…would love to try making it myself

  • I am on a personal quest to re-introduce ‘slow’ food to moms with families and to young adults. I am teaching them to enjoy the whole process of cooking and enjoying the togetherness of doing so, as well as ‘eating with a conscience’. Food should not just be scarfed down quickly, on the run. Many are intimidated by breadbaking but I see these methods as dovetailing beautifully with what I teach! Thank you so much for your warmth, enthusiasm and generosity of spirit!

  • Lynda

Sounds like a great cookbook for what I call our “fast-food society” these days. Good especially for those of us who want to cook, but aren’t used to taking the time to do it! (harder when you are single and have no one to cook for)

    • Lynda, if you’re single than you can always cook for your, neighbors, workmates and friends. Everyone loves a homecooked meal or a basket of muffins.

Before my kids came along, it wasn’t enough to cook for just my husband and myself. I wanted to try recipes that served a crowd. So, I would bring breakfast or lunches to work for my deskmates. I’d tape a sign up in the kitchen telling everyone “Happy Monday! Help yourself to the Banana Nut Muffins. ~Jill”

Everyone loved it and it was great way to bond. It grew into a way for us to save our lunch money. Just an idear.

  • Katie R

I have to look for this book at my local bookstore. I am intrigued by the recipe.

  • Jenn

Oh please please please! I love this book!

  • Desiree Crisp

I am wanting to aquire this book soon, hopefully by winning! I have always been intimidated to bake bread and this book makes it look so easy!

  • Linda Howard

This is a book I would really love to own.

  • Erika

The first book was enough to wet my appetite and crave more easy bread recipes. I love the simplicity and error proof prep.

  • My husband and I love homemade bread and I keep seeing this everywhere and want to check it out.

  • I have only been able to get the recipes from Mother Earth News Magazines… I would LOVE to have a book!

  • I would love to win this book! Bread baking is something i really need to learn!

  • Francine

I’m a great baker, but bread has always eluded me. I spend a small fortune each week on artisan breads from a local bakery – I’d love to skip that shopping trip!

    • Francine,

After you start baking with this book, you’ll walk past that artisan bakery singing,

“Anything you can do, I can do better.
I can bake any bread better than you.”

  • Robert Sawyer

My wife’s doctor told her she needed to lose 200lbs of ugly fat so she gave me divorce papers.. I need to win this book and save my marriage. Just kidding, but I really would like to win this book. Thanks for the chance Jill.

  • Donna Satterlee

Since my daughter’s death last spring I have found the need to keep myself very busy (less time to think)so I’ve started to really cook from scratch. One thing I’m doing is making all of my own bread. I can’t afford the artisian breads anymore. I was given a grain mill and some wheat so I’ve been looking for additional bread recipes so I can use the flour I grind. I’d love to win this book to add to my cookbook collection and find new bread recipes that will help to keep me busy while utilizing the grains that I grind into flour.

    • Oh Donna, you are a strong woman. My heart aches at the thought of your loss. I’m truly sorry.

How wonderful that you are able to grind your own flours. I just found out that one of my farming friends has started doing the same. She’s agreed to let me make a video of her teaching us about making our own flours. She’s hip to herbs and growing whole foods, so it will be a great video indeed.

      Stay strong, Dear.

  • Jennifer

I have checked this out at the library so many times- they probably want me to have my own copy!

  • I am excited to get this book. I’ve seen many blogs with their beautiful loaves displayed. To think that could be me as well!!! I am a good cook, but not into baking. Not used to the exact art of measuring! Thanks for this opportunity.

  • Marie Taylor

I have just learned that both I and my children are allergic to gluten. Imagine my surprise when I went to the store to purchase bread and began reading ingredients; ALL OF THEM CONTAINED GLUTEN!!!!! I would LOVE this book, considering it contains Gluten-free bread recipes!!! This book would make my life easier in so many ways!!! Thank you for the opportunity!

  • I would be more than estatic to receive a copy of this book! I love to coo, however my baking is limited to sweets and biscuits. I have been wanting to learn the easiest and best skills to making breads for quite some time now. Also I would like to thank you for the opportunity to participate in your great giveaways.

  • Becca

This book sounds really amazing! I hope I win!

  • I received a bread machine many, many moons ago. It’s moved with me on numerous moves, but I’ve never really APPRECIATED it until recently. However, the recipe book that I have for bread recipes … well, it’s kind of the same thing over & over again, so I’d LOVE to have some new recipes for this wonder machine! Even better, though, would be recipes that I can do MYSELF – especially in 5 minutes! Just to give you an example – the recipe I used this weekend for “Whole Wheat” bread? 2 cups of bread flour, 1 cup of whole wheat flour. How is that whole wheat bread?!?! LOL

  • Denise Corradetti

Thanks Jill for another chance at this book. I am so excited. I would love to be able to make healthy gluten free bread for my family in 5 minutes a day. thanks again

  • Wow! I’d love to win this!

  • Daphyne

Ooh, I’d love to win this book. I enjoy baking bread but have never tried a no knead technique.

  • Hannah B.

I am just as excited about it as I was last week, which is A LOT! :)
I bake a lot of bread and if I can make it healthier, then I won’t have to feel guilty about eating it.

  • Tim Mead

So looking forward to checking this book out. Will wait to see if my luck comes through, or if I will buy it in the end, buy one way or anther, this is one I am going to get and look forward to using!

    Tim Mead

  • Becky

With three kids who take lunch to school we go through so much bread! Would love to have a book full of healthy and easy recipes!

  • Joseph Hickman

I really love fresh bread, but have never made any from scratch — only bread makers. I keep seeing you promote this book, so it must be good! I hope I win!

  • I love love love the smell and taste of fresh bread. Usually I make it in my bread machine, but I would love to make it by hand.

  • sara

It’s a toss-up. I’m not sure if I would be more excited to get this book or if my family would be more excited for it to appear. Either way, we’d be some very happy bread eaters.

  • sarah

I’ve been baking bread out of Artisan bread in 5 Minutes a Day for two weeks now. My family loves it and I feel like a master in my kitchen!

  • Tammy

OMG what a time saver this will be if I win a copy! I thought using my bread machine to mix my dough was saving time, not. Watching the video really got me excited about entering for a chance to win a book!

Thanks Jill for having such an informative & fun site!

  • I need this book because my family is sick of me trying to make bread only from a Herman Sourdough Starter that I made several months ago! I have been looking for a great book and this seems to be the one that I REALLY NEED! Thanks for the opportunity to win a cop of this book!!

    Lori

    • Good morning Lori,
You won’t need to keep up with a starter when you’re baking from this book. Most of the recipes in the book make four 1-pound loaves. So when the dough is all baked up, you simply make a fresh batch of the same dough or try something different.

Your family will never tired of fresh baked breads.
