Print Balanced Breakfast Meals Event

WBB#20This morning, I joined the Balanced Breakfast Meals Event hosted by my good friend Mansi at Fun and Food.  Mansi has a delicious blog of vegetarian eats that makes my mouth water.

I'm entering the event with my Oatmeal Raisin Muffins recipe.

Mansi writes:

Preparing balanced meals is not as difficult as you think. Its just mixing up all the good stuff and packaging in a way that's visually appealing and good for your body too! The rules for participating in this event are just a little bit different, so please take a moment to go through them.

Defining a Balanced Meal:
A balanced and wholesome breakfast is something that combines 2 or more of the food groups below to fulfill nutrition needs.

Fruits or vegetables (dried fruits are fine too)
Grains and Cereals (whole grains, oats, high-fiber foods)
Dairy (skim milk, low-fat yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese (paneer) )
Proteins (eggs/egg whites, peanut butter, beans, nuts, sprouts, protein isolates)

See complete rules and times for participating in this event here.

I'm looking forward to checking back in the first week of April to see all the Balanced Breakfast Recipes and pick up some great ideas.  Be sure to check it out!  It's fun and healthy, what have we got to lose?
