A little bit of this, a little bit of that…who’s need to go ‘buy’ a banana split when you probably already have all the ingredients you need at home ?!

HERE’S ALL IT TAKES

  • good vanilla ice cream
  • ripe banana
  • strawberry preserves
  • chocolate syrup
  • pecans, broken into small pieces
  • coconut
  • whipped cream (leftover from the Strawberry dessert recipe)
  • handful of M&Ms plain, broken into sprinkling size

I made 3 small, banana splits for us yesterday.

Start with slicing the banana into thirds, then in half lengthwise and place in the bottom of the serving bowls

Place one good scoop of ice cream in between the bananas.

Put 2 teaspoons each of strawberry preserves on one side of the vanilla scoops.

Lightly, lightly drizzle chocolate syrup on the other side of the vanillas scoops.

Pour on a couple of tablespoons of whipped cream.

Top off with the pecans and coconut OR M&Ms pieces.

This tasted WONDERFUL after eating that healthy spinach and ham pizza.

POW! This was blow your head off good! This was a $5 Sunday easy and we made it for next to nothing and didn’t have to stand in line or deal with gum under the table. The kids totally dug it. Hey, it’s fruit and ice cream, what’s not to like?
