Sweet Butternut Squash
After roasting a couple of butternut squash in the oven, I got the idea to finally try out that old squash recipe. You know the one. When someone tries to pass off an unknown gourd to you and says,
“All you have to do is cut it open, take the seeds out, sprinkle it with a [...]
Toasted Butternut Squash Seeds
I was prepping a butternut squash and couldn’t bare to toss the seeds. Especially after the experience of toasting the pumpkin seeds, I couldn’t help wonder if the butternut seeds would be any different or the same. I also wondered why we don’t already eat butternut squash seeds.
So I followed the Roasted Pumpkin Seeds recipe. [...]
Apple Pear and Cranberry Crisp
This is a very good dessert to throw together, especially with apples and pears being on sale right now.
The recipe makes a big batch, but once you’ve shared it with your babysitter and your friends, it only lasts about 36 hours in the frig. Sigh. Oh the memories.
I pretty much followed Ina Garten’s Pear, Apple [...]
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
First I want to thank my dear friends, without them this post would not be here.
To Kim, for text messaging me and putting my up to the challenge of roasting pumpkin seeds. To Kelly of Sass & Veracity and Judy of No Fear Entertaining for answering my call for help on Twitter.
Kelly, your EXTREMELY SIMPLE [...]
Fruit and Creamy Yogurt
This best way I can describe this is, is…well, it’s reminds me of bread pudding without the bread.
It’s cool and creamy. The tender sweet peaches with the crunchy granola and the cinnamon mixed with the vanilla yogurt are enough to make you groan out loud. Not like you’re shampooing your hair in that old TV [...]
Chocolate Dipped Bananas
Max put in a request for chocolate dipped bananas the other day. I’ve never actually made them and thought it would be fun to try it out. I didn’t Google how to make them. I didn’t research to see if any of my food blogging friends had made them before. I just dove in head [...]

So I was standing in the super foodie mart and came across some unique food items. Some I had NEVER seen before, some I had seen but didn’t know what to do with them or how they tasted. That’s when I got the idea to have a little fun.
Do YOU know what this [...]

Strawberry Smoothie
I’ve been playing with my immersion blender again and I’m having smoothie cravings. Here’s another recipe that turned out refreshing and filled my tummy. (This time, I made enough for EVERYBODY.)
1/2 cup crushed ice

Simple Fig Preserves
Jarvis Farms is experiencing their fig harvest right now. MAN! Are these figs DELICIOUS!
I’ll be honest with you. I had never eaten a fig until last week sometime. I’ve always seen fig newtons, and knew I didn’t like them. But never had I appreciated a fresh fig right off the tree. [...]
