Traditional Roast Dinner
I love my crock pot or slow cooker, as some say. It is the perfect plan ahead meal tool anyone could use in the kitchen. So long as, I plan ahead in time. I'm always torn as to how long I should actually cook my roast beast, 4-6 hours or 8-10 hours. When I loose track of time, it ends up being 4-6 hours. Most often, the roast turns out tender either way. I do have one complaint about the slow... More...

The first time I roasted garlic, I could not believe it was so easy. I knew I could do it on a regular basis. And roasted garlic is sweeter and tastes so good alone, on bread, crackers, in mashed potatoes, anywhere you can imagine. It has a completely different personality roasted. Like me. HERE'S ALL YOU DO TO ROAST GARLIC Heat oven 425ºF degrees. Use a piece of heavy duty foil, 7-8 inches... More...

Just about every weekend, we eat pizza. To keep the meal fresh and fun, I mix up the toppings from week to week. Pizza out is okay every once and a while, pizza at home is the best! I buy the ready made crispy crusts. We like Mama Mary's Pizza Crusts Thin & Crispy, actually. Max & Maggie have a blast building their own pizza. I like it too, because they seem to eat more when they've made... More...

After making Awesome French Toast, I was curious how vanilla would taste in my pancake batter. My kids thought I made flat cupcakes for breakfast, and of course, they ate every bite! Notice that this is not a sweet batter, I skipped the sugar, knowing that there would be maple syrup added later. Personally, I've been craving raspberry jam on my pancakes. It's a yummy change and I can carry my... More...

I served these cakelike Cocoa Brownies last night after dinner to my family and friends. You should have seen the light saber duel that took place in my kitchen over the last brownie! My husband lost to an 8 year old Jedi Knight who was a master in the ways of the force. I will admit, I'm disappointed that there's not even one small, chewy corner leftover for my afternoon snack. HERE'S ALL IT TAKES 1... More...

Let me tell you from personal experience, THIS APPLE CRISP IS AWESOME!!! This recipe is so quick to throw together with no fuss. You could make it a day ahead, but you would have to hide it from your family. Do not leave this dessert unsupervised before serving, the crunchy topping will start to disappear. It's strange to call this a 'salad' when it's really a dessert. A wonderfully creamy dessert! The first time we tried this dessert was at a pot luck holiday party. The best thing about pot lucks is there's always something new to try. For the adventurous types, this is a lot of fun. For picky eaters, it's spells an evening of loading up on chips. For those with highly trained taste buds,... More...
