Steak and Salad Dinner
This is a beautiful and delicious meal made on the fly. Let me tell you, I had no plans to put this together. I was at the grocery store and happened to see they had boneless sirloin steaks on sale. I picked up one small steak (.88 pounds for $4.83) to feed two adults and two small child. My kids didn't touch the salad or the guacamole. They enjoyed a side of black beans with a dollop of sour cream.
I grilled the steak on my new grill pan. I highly recommend adding one to your kitchen collection. I've enjoyed using it to grill toast, chicken, vegetables and now, steak!
HERE'S ALL YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS MEAL
- boneless sirloin steak
- salt & pepper
- Worcestershire sauce
- leaf lettuce
- grape tomatoes
- goat cheese, crumbled
- your favorite salad dressing
Prepare guacamole and salad first.
Using a grill pan, heat it up on high heat and spray with PAM Professional High Heat nonstick spray.
Using a sharp chef's knife, carefully slice steak in half, perpendicular to the grain, to make thin cut slices. This way, the meat will cook faster and still be tender. Season generously with salt, pepper and sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce. Place meat on hot pan, and turn heat down to medium low. Cook each side 2 to 4 minutes on each side, depending on how well you prefer your steak cooked. Remove meat from pan and allow to rest a few minutes, while you prep your plates.
Be sure to try a bite of goat cheese and steak together, then guacamole and steak together. (Is your mouth watering, too?) This meal was so inexpensive and such a treat for us. If you've been around this site for awhile, you may have noticed that we eat a lot of chicken. Steak and salad was a nice change.

That makes a beautiful plate!
