I’ve been playing with my immersion blender again and I’m having smoothie cravings. Here’s another recipe that turned out refreshing and filled my tummy. (This time, I made enough for EVERYBODY.)

  • 1/2 cup crushed ice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
  • 6 to 8 ripe strawberries, cleaned & quartered

Blend until smooth in a drink blender or with an immersion blender.

DRINK UP!

For extra nutrients and to use as a meal replacement, add oat meal. Great for breakfast on the run!

I just tried that in a banana smoothie and it was very good! The oatmeal gave my drink little chewy bits, but I didn’t mind it at all.

I like wheat germ, too. Maybe I should pick up a bottle of it too. What do you think?

Wheat germ sounds great! Did you cook the oatmeal before or was it instant oatmeal? If so, I can see how that would be chewy. Mine does not come out chewy, we use the traditional whole oats and the blender breaks them into tiny bits.

I used traditional quick oats and my stick blender. If I had used my drink blender, I probably could get it smoother.
