This truly SIMPLE DAILY RECIPE comes from Cousin Amanda.  She made it for one of our family cookouts and it was a BIG HIT! I could have made it a whole meal with a slice of bread on the side.

HERE'S ALL IT TAKES

  • 6 Slices Bacon cooked crispy - diced
  • 2 Cups Chopped Onion - I used 1 1/2 lg white onions
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3 cans pinto beans - drained
  • 2 cans ranch style beans - drained
  • 2 cans pork and beans - drained
  • 1/4 Cup Light Brown Sugar - or add to taste
  • 2 cans Rotel diced tomatoes and chilies - do not drain!
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can ranch style beans - use liquid only
  • 1 small poblano pepper - diced

Combine all ingredients and refrigerated over night.
Preheat oven 350 degrees F.  Bake for 45 minutes.

    Thanks for sharing

  2. Chris says:

Wow, this looks great, can’t wait to try it. Something new besides the same old pork and beans.
What do you mean by “ranch” beans tho? do you use a particular brand? Thanks!

    Hey Chris!
Yea, I meant to say Ranch Style Beans. It’s a brand out of Fort Worth, Texas with its own flavor. I don’t know of another brand that would be similar. In Texas, everyone knows Ranch Style Beans. I took that for granted.

  4. Chris says:

Hi and thanks! We are in Washington State now, heading for Texas, so I’ll be sure and get some while we are there and see what I find comparable when I get home to my native NY in 2 weeks!

  5. Jill says:

How cool is that? Ranch Style Beans are very common in these parts. You won’t have any trouble finding them.
They’re great in my simple Bean & Meat Burrito recipe.
My daughter won’t eat any other black beans except from this brand. Not even home cooked black beans, I’ve tried.

  6. Chef Tom says:

Another delicious one! Great for the upcoming bbq season.

Hey Chef Tom! Long time no see!
This IS a very good recipe for bbq season. We enjoyed it again for our big family Father’s Day cookout. Unfortunately, there were no leftovers to bring home :(
