Adonis Cake from My Beef With Meat

Adonis cake is dark. Moist. Delectable! Audience member, Cara Hunter, forced my hand in making the Adonis cake from the book, My Beef With Meat. I did make a few adjustments to the recipe. Check it out.

1 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2/3 cup evaporated cane juice sugar
6 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
1 tablespoon natural rice vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup cold water

1 (12-ounce) package silken tofu
3/4 cup dairy-free, semisweet chocolate chips, melted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons chia seeds
