    • LOL!!! Amy, I never want these giveaways to grow boring.

I have more books to give away along with heart-shaped cake pans in February. The goodies just keep on coming!

Today I am making whole wheat and honey flatbread and hummus for our dinner. Is there anything nicer than fresh bread when it’s still warm? Thanks for the offer!

  • I love lots of bread, I think I love it too much… :P

I pray that I’ll be favored with this giveaway…I am on disability and would be unable to buy the book otherwise!!!

Mmmm, bread. I have a challah from a recipe in ABin5 cooling on a rack as I write this (is it dinner time yet?), and I plan to make a batch of spinach-feta dough this weekend. I just can’t decide if I want to make the full batch or a half batch. Does anyone really need FOUR loaves of spinach-feta bread?

    • Oh Lauren, make the whole batch. You can always share a loaf or two with your friends and neighbors.

Spinach feta is a great breakfast toast with butter or a thin slice of cheese broiled on top. I eat it both ways.
      It makes great croutons, too.
And remember, you can parbake the loaves and freeze them for later.

I love the Challah bread with the Judy’s Board of the Director Cinnamon Raisin bread filling rolled into it. *mouth watering*

Okay, you convinced me! I have the dough rising on the counter. I haven’t tried parbaking yet – I don’t know why, but I was nervous to attempt it – but I think I will this time.

As for the challah, I modified their original recipe to be partially whole wheat. Mmmm, good!

I have four daughters under the age of 8 and we all LOVE baking together! I like helping them learn skills that will allow them to be healthy in their lives – like making bread! The five minute part is very appealing to me what with short attention spans and lots of hair to brush and dolls to play with… :)

If I had one of the books, I could bake some bread tomorrow during our 6-12″ snow storm here in VA! HAHA Hope to win this one, better late than never!

I am working on getting the Whole Grain Master Recipe made today….a few months ago I went through a double mastectomy so it is difficult to knead bread right now (and maybe for a long time to come!) but since this doesn’t have to be kneaded, this may be the answer for me! I have used our bread machine but do not find it as good as handmade bread. I have also been using our dehydrator alot (because when I had the surgery, I was also laid off from my job!) so I am thinking alot about things to add to my breads so we can still eat healthy, good food! Love your website and all the great recipes! It is snowing tons here today and I hope to put a pot of soup on in a little bit! Take care!

    • You go Deborah!
It may be easier for you to by mixing the dough with a big wooden spoon until it comes together, then use a wet hand to fold the dough checking for dry flour lumps. It’s a little messy, but not strenuous.

I recently pulled out my old dehydrator and put it to work making my own garlic powder, lemon pepper, and dried mushrooms. At the very moment, I’m soaking the dried mushrooms for taste testing purposes. I want to find out if it’s worth it to dry them or just grow them and eat them fresh.

It must be a soupy day, I just tried a Fennel soup for lunch today. I had never eaten fennel before; I think it must take an acquired taste. I wasn’t gah-gah over it, but my mouth felt clean & fresh afterwards. ;D

  • We’ve been making naan from the first book, we would love to try the healthier recipes.

  • Roslyn

    Jill,
Once I try this book out (sure would be fun to win one) I hope to be able to buy four more for my grown children who love to make their own bread as well as a daughter in law and a son in law who I just recently taught with the simple method in AB in 5. They love it. Now to make it healthier for the sake of my grandchildren! Thanks for doing this blog for us. Fun to read. Roslyn

I love the smell of fresh bread and, even more, the great comments I get when someone walks in while I am baking. What a great ego-boost!

  • Yay for another chance to win! I think about this book when I’m kneading my go-to bread recipe and think how fun it would be to have healthy dough waiting for me in the fridge! :)

  • Francine

It’s a snowy day here too…I’ve been in the kitchen most of the day getting things ready to have during the week. (But also found the time to bake a batch of chocolate chip cookies and the chocolate cake with fudge frosting from the Feb. Bon Appetit. Hopefully, I’ll be able to add homemade bread to that routine!

  • June

This book sounds great!!! I love bread!!! Fresh baked healthy bread sounds so good. Thanks for the chance to win!

  • Joe

Sounds like a good book. Crossing my fingers!

  • Awesome! I hope I win… But anyway, lets talk about bread! While I have always loved bread, and bought way too much when i go to the store… I recently started making my own. I bought a nice 2lb’er bread machine.. and it started with making loafs in the bread machine, but there are so many other settings on the machine.. I have since, made the dough in the machine and made french rolls and Italian breads, soft pretzels and pasta dough.. man this is all why Im 8 pounds heavier. I got to get a handle on this.. LOL

  • I guess this is my last chance for the last book to be given away. I know the recipes have to be great since they are designed to be healthier. I enjoy your site, keep it going you’re doing great! Mostly I look out for healthy recipes, although I like to bake for others to enjoy as well. You make it so easy to make delicious recipes.
