Thanks to the good folks at Brunner Works and Lucky Leaf®, I present to you the opportunity to win a Wilton Heart Shaped Cake Pan.
Do you wanna see what I made with my Wilton heart shaped cake pan?
It's a Sweetheart Cherry Cake. The recipe comes with the cake pan and I've published it here.

Sweetheart Cherry Cake is more delicious than I need it to be. I'm keeping mine in the refrigerator, but only because I enjoy cold cake with my cold fresh milk. Every time I open the frig, there it is, calling me. Even at this point, half devoured, happily sitting on the cake plate, it's food porn in my refrigerator. My mouth waters as I gaze on it's moist crumbs clinging to the streaks of buttercream icing and cherry glaze stuck to the plate. I fight the urge to run my finger across the sugary goodness. *sigh*

Thank you all for playing along and sharing your favorite pie flavor with us. We all have such great tastes in food. ;D

I never met a pie filling I didn’t like, but my all-time favorite is cherry.
I’ve never had rhubarb pie, but I know I like all the rest, too. Thanks Deborah!
I love cherry, but when I was little I only liked lemon because it didn’t have any “chunks”
Apple, all the way! I may be a little biased as I go apple picking before I bake a pie, but I love it.
Well Tamara, you are so blessed to be able to pick your own apples. You have memories with those pies, no wonder they’re your favorite! ;D
Jill, my fave is Cherry. It just seems you can use it pretty much in any dessert. My 89 YO neighbor makes fried pies with the Lemon and my oh my,it is so very decadent.I have a recipe in my head fashioned in my head after my grandmas “Dump Cake” last weekend. it uses crushed pineapple and cherry pie filling. I am thinking of peaches and blueberry pie filling. Your Sweetheart Cherry Cake looks SO good! Is the recipe on here? I wanna make that!And you are right it is FOOD PORN!!C;
Hi Deb!
How lucky you are to have a cooking neighbor with so much wisdom to share. And I’ve had Dump Cake, my Aunt Debbie makes it, too.
The same Aunt that makes the Quick Italian Creme Cake.
Here’s the Sweetheart Cherry Cake Recipe
I’m not a huge fruit pie fan because I don’t like when the fruit gets so soft as a result of baking. Yeah, I’m weird, I know.
If I had to pick, though, I think my favorite flavor would definitely be peach, with apple coming in a close second.
Hi Lauren!
Did you ever try my Texas Peach Pie recipe?
I can’t wait for this year’s peach harvest. This time I’m ready to stock up with my new Food Saver vacuum system that I got for Christmas.
That looks amazing! I may very well have to give that a try. We’re starting to get peaches on sale at the supermarket again, but I think I’ll wait until the local orchards have peaches in season and we can go pick our own. Those are the best!
Fresh peaches picked by your own hand are certainly THE BEST EVER.
Thanks, Lauren.
My favorite is Cherry. It was my dad’s favorite too, I used to make him one a couple times a month and take it to him. Of course, after everyone else got a piece, there wasn’t much left for him the next day! So, I’d start all over and make another one. We’d laugh, because he said my pie crust were better than my mother’s, (not true), because she taught me how to bake. They’re both gone now, 3 years, they passed away within days of each other.
Now THAT’s true love
Oh Robin, I’m sorry.
What wonderful memories you have with them! Sharing the love for foods runs deep in our souls, forever. Every time we take that bite, we transcend back into those moments of discovery.
I like blackberry pie.
Cherry is my favorite… always has been and always will be!!
Cherry Pie Ala Mode!
I’m more of a cobbler and crisp girl (peach, cherry and blackberry,) and love chocolate pie the best. I’m wondering if all the cherry pie responses have anything to do with your “food porn” cake with the luscious cherries, which made me think of warm cherry pie with French vanilla ice cream. Thanks for the fun offer!
I LOVE cherry pie filling, especially on a plain cheesecake! Mmm!
Oh Rachelle! That’s sounds REALLY good right now. Can I just go ahead and have that for my dinner?
I love so many of them, depends on my mood. cherry seems to always fit.. but apple is right up top there too.
I’m not quite sure it rhubarb is a fruit, but my allllll time favorite is strawberry-rhubarb.. It’s just beyond delicious!
apple. always and forever.
I can’t believe no-one has mentioned Blueberry! I love a good blueberry pie w/ crumb topping!!
good ol’ fashioned apple pie is always yummy!
All american- Cherry plus blueberry!
Cherry flavor rules!
I have a great recipe that calls for cherry pie filling that I get raves on so I guess that is my best flavor. Though I am generally partial to apple cakes, I do not like apple pie filling which I find too sweet.
how i see it u cant say nothing bad bout pies until u tried it and my all time fav is cherry pies
Well, I gotta admit to lovin’ them all but the last pie I (recently) made was a Shaker pie, which is made with Meyer lemons, rind and all! Wow, was that ever good! In the summer I like to make bumbleberry pie, a mixture of berries. I usually use raspberries, blackberries, blueberries & red currants. Woo Hoo!
That sounds awesome!
Blueberry
STRAWBERRIESSSSSSSSSSS
I only like two kinds of pie: warm and cold.
My favorite is ice cold chocolate, with mile-high mounds of fresh whipped cream on top!
Ooh! Pie!! Pie = Love!! (or 3.1415….)
To me, the best pie flavor is Chocolate or Peanutbutter (Or both!!) BUT you did say FRUIT pie. So being the all american, I will have to say apple!! Love a tart apple pie (Granny Smiths anyone?)
Thanks Jill!
tim
I just picked up a dozen organic apples from CostCo. I hope they have flavor; they’re going into a pie for sure!
I’ve been craving banana cream pie this whole pregnancy but I have yet to make it! It’s still what comes to mind when asked about fruit pie.
My son asked me if I would make him a Banana Cream Pie, “just like MaryAnn makes for Gilligan.”
Peach pie, for sure.
It used to be cherry till we moved to a cherry orchard. Now that I’m so sick of cherries, it has to be apple pie. Mmmm. I have to say my mother in laws apple pie is the best
I love blackerry pie – or lemon meringue – does that count?!
