Mustard French Dressing is DELICIOUS on mixed salad greens or drizzled over grilled chicken. This recipe goes way back to 1942; a time when all of our meats, fruits and vegetables were locally grown. It's easy to pull together and it calls for ingredients we commonly store in our pantry.
HERE'S ALL IT TAKES
- 1/3 cup vinegar or fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup salad or olive oil
- 3 tablespoons prepared mustard
- 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- cayenne, a few grains
Combine all the ingredients; shake or beat until thoroughly combined; chill. Shake again each time before using. Makes 1 1/3 cups.

Quick question – when you say prepared mustard, do you mean mustard powder, or yellow mustard as in French’s mustard?
Prepared mustard is the stuff in the bottle. I used spicy brown mustard in this recipe and it was very good.
